Nella nostra prima vistita di Berlino era coperta per un restauro. ------------ This time we have seen the Brandenburger Tor. During our first visit it was covered for restauration works. Gli orsi di Berlino. 123 orsi rappresentanti le nazioni del mondo accanto alla Porta di Brandeburgo. Sono gli United Buddy Bears. Da dicembre 2003 vengono venduti all'asta in favore dell'Unicef. Verranno quindi rimossi. Il secondo della foto rappresenta l'Italia. ------------ United Buddy Bears. In this installation 123 bears represents the world nations. From December 2003 they are sold during an auction in favor of Unicef, therefore they will be removed. Tolto il simbolo della Repubblica Democratica Tedesca è un palazzone abbandonato a fianco del Duomo. Chissà per quanto resisterà ancora prima che facciano un centro commerciale ------------ The old Palast der Republik close to the Dome. The symbol of Democratic Republic of Germany has gone and the building in an abandoning stauts. We wonder how long it will stay in this conditions before they transform it in a Shopping Center. Postdamer Platz, abbiamo fatto la foto a questo cantiere due anni fa, è ancora possibile intravedere il Sony Center sullo sfondo. Ed ora... ------------ Postdamer Platz, we took this picture two years ago. Behind the work area is still possible to see the Sony Center. And now... Ecco come è oggi lo stesso punto. Il palazzo di vetro prosegue con un'altra costruzione che è il Marriot Hotel che aprirà in gennaio 2004 così come il The Ritz Carlton Berlin dietro questo stesso palazzo. ------------ And this is how it is the same point nowadays. After the glass building there is the new Marriot Hotel which will open on January 2004 as The Ritz Carlton Berlin behind the glass building. Vicino a Postdamer Platz i berlinesi stanno costruendo il "Denkmal fuer die ermordeten Juden Europas" un luogo per ricordare gli ebrei europei uccisi. Come già visto al museo ebraico anche qui colonne e cubi di cemento per ricordare l'Olocausto ------------ Close to Postdamer Platz the berliners are building the "Denkmal fuer die ermordeten Juden Europas" a memorial for the killed Jewish in Europe. As already seen in the Jewish Musem concrete pillars and cubes will remember the Holocaust. Che cos'è questo? Bè essendo in mezzo a una piazza potrebbe essere un monumento. A che cosa? A ciascuno deciderlo. ------------ What's this? Well, as it is in the middle of a square it could be a monument. To what? Well, we leave the decision to you.
